In the course of our work we collect personal information from businesses and individuals so that we can support the growth of businesses, and the creation of new business by individuals, based in the Humber. We achieve this by providing 1:1 advice, running workshops & masterclasses, and by other forms of delivery, such as online webchats and other interactive services.
The Humber Business Growth Hub is funded for the Government Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS), and is delivered by the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), which is in turn overseen by Kingston upon Hull City Council as the accountable body.

We may share information about you or your business with our delivery partners. This is only done when they are delivering part of the programme on our behalf. Our delivery partners are:-

During the delivery of the Growth Hub service we are under contractual obligation to provide information about you or your business with BEIS for research and evaluation purposes only.
The use of you or your business’s information may include matching to other data sources to understand more about organisations like yours and general patterns and trends, although you or your business’s data will not be published or referred to in a way which identifies any individual or business. If you have any questions in relation to how the information you or your business provides, and in particular any personal data will be processed and disclosed, please contact us at Growthhub@humberlep.org
Information is processed to enable us to support businesses in the Humber area, in line with the requirements of our funding.
This processing is undertaken on the basis of:-
- 6(1)(c)processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which the controller is subject;
- 6(1) (e) processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller;
- 9(2) processing is necessary for reasons of substantial public interest, on the basis of Union or Member State law which shall be proportionate to the aim pursued, respect the essence of the right to data protection and provide for suitable and specific measures to safeguard the fundamental rights and the interests of the data subject.
The terms and conditions of our funding require that documents and electronic information relating to the delivery of the Growth Hub service must be retained until 31st December 2033. The Local Authority as Accountable Body for the Programme is required to comply with current UK law and contractual conditions for funding.
Individuals and/or businesses may request the deletion of their data that is held by the Growth Hub; however such requests will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. Where the individual or business has been a recipient of funding from the Growth Hub, details must be retained until the Growth Hub service concludes. In all cases, the Local Authority will comply with UK law and the requirements of funding bodies.
Our Service Partners
We work with external suppliers/businesses who we may need to share your data with in order to deliver their contract and offer support to you. Where your data is shared with third parties, we will only share the minimum amount necessary. In some cases, our external suppliers/businesses may process/retain additional information about your business in order to provide the optimum support to your business. Information held by the external supplier/business will be in line with the data protection principles.
These suppliers/businesses can change and future tenders for new procurements will be an ongoing process. If you would like to know the names of the suppliers/businesses we share your data with, please contact us and we will be happy to provide this information to you.
In addition, we may use the following third-party service providers named below to process and store your data:
- Mailchimp (The Rocket Science Group, LLC), which we use to manage email marketing subscriber lists and send email notifications regarding our events, workshops and support activities to our subscribers.
We will not share your personal information with or sell it to third-party marketers.
